Wathiqa · وثيقة · AI digital archive
Decades of paper, audio and video, searchable in Arabic and English.
Wathiqa (وثيقة, “the document”) turns scanned documents, recordings and video into an archive you can search. It reads Arabic and English text with OCR, transcribes speech with timestamps, lets your archivists correct whatever the machine wasn’t sure of, and finds records by meaning, not just by keyword.
- OCR and speech-to-text with timestamps
- Search by meaning across documents and recordings
- On-premise or UAE cloud, with a tamper-evident audit log

Why it matters
An archive only helps if people can find what’s in it
Boxes of paper, shelves of tapes and folders of scans hold an institution’s memory, but nobody can search them.
Locked in paper and tape
Scans without text and recordings nobody has transcribed can’t be searched at all.
Arabic is hard to read by machine
Handwriting, old typefaces and poor scans defeat basic OCR, and the errors go unnoticed.
Keywords miss meaning
Researchers look for a topic, not the exact word a document used decades ago.
What Wathiqa does
From scan or recording to a searchable record
Ingest everything
Scans in PDF, JPG and TIFF, plus audio and video files of up to 2 GB each, uploaded in batches.
OCR and speech-to-text
Arabic and English text read from scans and speech transcribed with timestamps, with a confidence score on every word.
Correction workbench
Low-confidence words are highlighted for archivists to confirm or correct, so errors are fixed before a record is published.
Semantic search
Search by meaning in Arabic or English, filter by subject, date and type, and jump straight to the page or the moment in a recording.
Synchronized viewer
Read the transcript beside the audio or video, and click any line to play from that moment.
Taxonomy and workflow
Classify records in a subject tree, and move them from submission to review to publication, with approvals.

FAQ
Digital archive questions, answered
What is Wathiqa?
Wathiqa is a digital archive for paper, audio and video records. It reads scans with OCR, transcribes recordings with timestamps and makes everything searchable by meaning in Arabic and English, with review and publication workflows.
How accurate is Arabic OCR?
It depends on the source: clean print reads well, while handwriting and damaged pages are harder. Wathiqa scores its confidence on every word, sends uncertain words to a correction workbench, and reports OCR and transcription accuracy across the archive.
Which files can we upload?
Scanned documents in PDF, JPG and TIFF, and audio and video recordings of up to 2 GB per file.
What is semantic search?
Search that understands meaning rather than matching exact words. A researcher can search for a topic in Arabic or English and find the records that discuss it, even when they use different words.
Who can see the archive?
You decide. Records move from submission to review to publication, access is set by role, and nothing is published before it is approved.
Where is the archive stored?
On your own servers, or in a UAE cloud region we run for you. Access needs multi-factor authentication and can be limited to your networks.
How is Wathiqa licensed?
As an annual on-premise licence installed on your servers, private cloud or an isolated network, or as a monthly or annual cloud subscription that we host in a UAE data center or a cloud region in your country. Both include updates and support.
